( Before Mr. WATSON, Q.C. ) Jonathan GILL , 29, was charged with having, on the 23rd of January last, at Horton, in the West-Riding, feloniously killed one heifer, with intent to steal the carcass, the property of David MORTIMER. Mr. HARDY was for the prosecution; Mr. BLANSHARD defended the prisoner. Guilty. To be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for six months. Mark TOCK ( not in the calendar ) was charged with having, on 31st January last, at Allerston, in the North-Riding, stolen a quantity of money, the property of Mark TOCK. Mr. BLANSHARD prosecuted; the prisoner was undefended. The prosecutor is an old man, 82 years of age, and related to the prisoner as his grandfather. Prisoner is a private in the 73rd regiment, and, whilst visiting the old man, he robbed him of about 30 pounds. Guilty. To be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for twelve calendar months. John SYKES , 43, was charged with having, on the 10th of December last, at Kirkbeaton, in the West-Riding, feloniously stolen, from the person of Sophia BOOCOCK , various articles of wearing apparel, her property. Mr. HALL and Mr. INGHAM were for the prosecution. Guilty. To be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for nine months.
