Dear Maree, Unfortunately, practically none of the +24,000 surnames submitted to the YKS Surnames List are mine so I can't give you any information. The YKS list is basically a free database that gives the name and contact details of individuals researching a particular surname, or surnames, in Yorkshire only. To find out more about the family/surname you are interested in, you have to go to the YKS Home Page at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/YKSlist/ . <http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/YKSlist/> There, you will find the index of listings. Click on the box that is most likely to contain your surname. You will be taken to a sub-index page. Use your *Find* too to see who else is interested in that name. Click on EMAIL and you will get that person's address that you can use to contact him/her directly. Happy hunting!
