On Sunday morning, a man, named Robert HOLLIDAY ,of Harton, was found frozen to death at Hopgrove, a village about three miles from York, on the Malton-road. On Monday John MOYES , aged between 35 and 40, a commercial traveller, in the employ of David HAIGH and Son, Huddersfield, was found to have poisoned himself at the Talbot hotel, Bradford. Pecuniary embarrassment and domestic troubles are believed to have caused the act. Joseph GREENWOOD , a middle-aged man, was on Tuesday committed for trial at Leeds on the charge of cutting and wounding his wife, to whom he had been married only three weeks. The prisoner had gone home in a passion, and had amused himself by striking and kicking the woman, and then stabbing her in several places.
