As you can see however I've gone back as far as 1573 without finding any record of your Mordens. The nearest ajoining parishes are Munston, Folkton and Hunmanby, with Munston encircling Filey, making that the most likely parish, however I don't have these records, and the IGI only goes back to 1729. I've checked the IGI and there are no Mordens in their Munston records, however if I were you this is the area I'd be looking in. Kate This is AWESOME news. Thank you thank you for taking the time to do this for me. I truly appreciate it as I'm sure everyone on list appreciates your efforts. and again Kate A BIG THANK YOU for the second email too too. I'm hoping to come over next spring to do some research so need all the guidance I can get to make sure I'm not wasting time. We just got back from Ireland on Thursday and am very happy with my findings there. Hope we can meet when I'm over there and also maybe I can do some research for others while there too. Talk soon and again thank you so much, Susan When I replied to your emails they got bounced back to me so hopefully this goes through. Well after 3 tries I finally figured out what I did wrong.

Author: diamondlifestyle Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.yks.general/15637.10.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Helen, I've found Richard & Anne's marriage 29 Jan 1718, and the children's baptisms; Martin (08 Nov 1719), Anne (27 May 1722) and Mary (29 Mar 1724). I have been unable to trace Richard's birth to find his parents' names, although it wasn't in Brompton as the records go back to the 1600s. Of the children I've found Martin's marriage to Mary Danby at Reighton, Yorks, on 05 May 1744 (a parish about 12 miles away) although I can't find that they had any children baptised in that parish, or that Mary was baptised there. I've also found two possibles for Anne: Ann Lowish m Thomas Waller 07 Feb 1737 @ Bossall - 26 miles from Brompton Ann Lowish m John Bowmer 27 Oct 1759 @ Whitby - 1.5 miles from Brompton Given the distances I'd start looking at the Whitby one first as the most likely. I've had a quick shuffle over them both, there are no baby Wallers baptised in Bossall, however there are a fre Bowmers in Whitby, all listed as children of John & Ann: Catherine, bap 10 Jul 1768 Ann, bap 24 Oct 1769 John, bap 05 Mar 1770 Frank, bap 23 Mar 1772 ? Thomas, bap 13 May 1764 (only father listed, but there were no other records relating to a John Bowmer at this time so assume he is from the same family) I have also found Thomas's marriage to Margaret Miller on 06 Feb 1787 @ Whitby. There were no records of Mary marrying. Hope that helps! Kate Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. St Wilfred's church being the parish church of Calverley. To appreciate the area of Yorkshire I would suggest you looking at a) Genuki above and b) Google the named locations. I noticed you referenced Shipley to the Windhill location. Are they one and the same or is Shipley the newer name? They also had a son, John Woller Keeff; B. 18 May 1854; in Laister Dyke, Pudsey, Yorkshire. I can't find any reference to Laister Dyke anywhere. Can you help me out with a location? Perhaps it is an address in Pudsey. Also, the marriage certificate says they were married in Parish of Calverley,....Would that be the same as St. Wilfrid's Church or one of the other churches in the Parish?
