If you could give me the name and year of birth of one of the family, preferably the father I could look them up and make sure that this is the right one. There are two places very near to each other one is Stanage Edge and the Stanedge. These actually lie in Derbyshire over the border from Sheffield. Let me have the details and I will try and help you. Regards JUDY ELKINGTON www.elkingtonfamily.com ELKINGTON@rootsweb.com www.one-name.org/profiles/elkington.html

    2. Cheryl, You don't have a Bridget WILSON b~1836 to John WILSON & Margaret HANNION I suppose. She married Morgan James DORMAN in Ballarat, Vic 1858 & died 1907 in Ballarat. They were my gg gparents. She is according to their marriage cert from Clare, Ireland but I can find no trace of them at all. So I'm asking all Wilson's. Cheers. You will have to trace back as far as you can in US and then go to the 1841 Census in England. You will then see all the Ridsdales left behind in Yorkshire. They all seem to live in a small area of Yorkshire between the small market town of Wetherby and the large town of Harrogate. There are very few Ridsdales anywhere else in 1841. A map of Yorkshire would help you see where they all lived. Get back to me if you need any more help later, or any Geography help. I only have info for direct family line. Samuel Ridsdale b. 1803 had several brothers, possibly one of them was the father of James. My Ridsdale's came to the states in 1833. Lucy had written to my gr-gran's brother & reffered to him as 'cousin'. I only wish I had started this research sooner...when there was still someone around to answer these questions! thanks for all your help, Bonnie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
