Ideally what I would like to do is find them. I couldn`t find any marriages for the daughters and although I could find 1 or 2 of them on 192.com the site is too expensive to look any further for them on there. I have tried the online Phone Books for the areas I imagined they might have lived in but can`t find anything appearing to be the right initials or names. Each line I work on has it's temptations and my project really does resemble an oak tree. I will keep in touch as each year I go back and look at these original records and am becoming quite familiar with a lot of the information. I did so much work originally from films that were so poor to read ( I now know that some of that was the actual way the book was written as well as the fact it is on parchment). I did not mean to impose on you; if I did, I apologize. I did some Norwegian research for my own family years ago, and their christening records often list the name of the mother too, so I was curious about Esther and James Hilton's father William's wife. Interesting that the name Eleanor (from Nicholson?) repeats in James' daughter. William's first child Mary was baptised in September 1778, so that timing seems to fit also. If I should find that the family arrived in the US before Isabelle's supposed birth date, I will let you know. As you said earlier, that was a patron entry and subject to error. I'd appreciate your keeping me in mind for future info, even if it is years from now. I will list my e-mail without the @ (at) sign to prevent junk mail. You can contact me directly if you'd like. ballykindlar(at)hotmail.com. Thank you again, Lynn. Susan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I can tell you that I viewed the actual book and there was no baptism for Isabelle. Of course that does not necessarily mean she didn't exist just that she wasn't baptised in Hollym, I can confirm the other children. From the IGI I have William HILTON marrying Eleanor NICHOLSON in Welwick in 1777. I have yet to confirm this. Because I have an interest in so many of the families in Hollym I went through somewhat systematically noting down entries for the names I am looking at. Because of time restraints (I scribbled non-stop for the full week) and other areas (I took a huge list to be confirmed for the other areas too) I did not take this family back any further, with earlier generations of HILTONS in the same place this will have to be unravelled and will have to happen next time, which unfortunately may be next spring, although something might pop up once I've entered in all my notes. We now have good information that all of James' (brother of Esther) sons and his daughter Hannah Hilton came to the US, exactly when not known. Since you didn't find them in the 1841 census, it must have been before then. We believe at this point that daughters Eleanor, b. about 1817-18; Eliza, b. about 1826; and Isabelle, b. about 1830-31 probably stayed in England, but have no info about survival or marriage. Do you know the name of Esther and James mother? Thank you for your help. If you want any additional US info, just let me know.
