Hi You would need to know a lot about the family. It would be nice to make a connection but you need to trace family back generation by generation. You can read quite a lot about him on the Internet and you need to find out if he had children or brothers and brothers and sisters. Certainly there were Chippendale's in Guiseley in the 1600s but you have to try and related them by research. Who were Harold Chippendale's parent and grandparents. You need to get his relations back for about 150 years before you could prove this. Good Hunting. Children you listed were: Reginald, George Henry, John Thomas, Thelma, Ethel, Cyril, Dot, Gladis, Patrick. Below is what I found on BMD all born in the District of DONCASTER ( Thurnscoe is in this registration district) Reginald BLADEN b: Qrt Jun 1907 George Henry BLADEN b: Qrt 1909 John Thomas BLADEN b: Qrt 1910 Mothers maiden name recorded for children below is TEECE. Joseph BLADEN b: Qrt Mar 1912 Elsie BLADEN b: Qrt Dec 1913 Elizabeth BLADEN b: Qrt Dec 1915 Emma BLADEN b: Qrt Dec 1919 You also said the John Thomas BLADEN died in the war I cannot find any record for John Thomas dying during the war but I did find a record for Joseph BLADEN dying. Commonwealth War Graves Commission Joseph BLADEN, Serjeant, Royal Artillery, 26 Medium Regt, age: 33, died: 4/04/1945, Serial No: 805800, Son of George & Emma Bladen, husband of Ethel Bladen of Thurnscoe Yorkshire. Cemetery: Argenta Gap War Here is a suggestion: Some of the names of the children you have list for George and Emma are actually son and daugther in laws. eg: Ethel was married to Joseph Bladen (as stated in CWGC data above) Cyril was married to Elsie Bladen (birth record)also found a marriage in Doncaster for Elsie Bladen marrying Cyril Beddoes 1933. At a guess I would say that the children I have listed above are George and Emma's may have been a few more that I have not found. If you obtained information about there children from family it would be easy to mix up who is who as the would have all been known as uncle cyril or auntie ethel. Let me know what you think. 1. [YORKSHIRE] Marriage lookup Knaresborough 1763
    2. [shawmail.gv.shawcable.net]:[Jack Beeching]
    3. Hi, I wonder if anyone has access to the Knaresborough PRs and could look for a marriage that took place 06 Jul 1763. The happy couple were Thomas Baynes and Margaret Bake (IGI batch# M058892). I am curious if the marriage was by publication of banns or license. Also if the groom happened to be from another Parish. Regards to all Jack

It is admitted to be already 12 months behind schedule. Oh happy day when it happens! My great worry is whether it will allow access to the full re-indexed records from 1837 right up to the present day or whether there will be some restrictions, i.e. as with the Scottish GRO indexes at ScotlandsPeople which has no births under 100 years old, marriages under 75 years old and deaths under 50 years old. I cannot recall whether anything has been said about this. If it imposes such restrictions, then the value of the re-indexing will be substantially impaired, especially since the original volumes are now being removed from the FRC. -- Roy Stockdill Editor, Journal of One-Name Studies Guild of One-Name Studies website: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." 3. From: "Le Bateman" <LeBateman@att.net> > Has anyone come across the surname of Oates in Yorkshire?> What an extraordinary question! Which part of Yorkshire? Who, when, where? Which particular Oates family are you talking about? In the 1881 census of Britain there were 4,664 entries for the surname OATES and just over FORTY per cent - 1,901 - were in the West Riding of Yorkshire. There were another 90 in the East Riding and 37 more in the East Riding, so in total around 43 per cent of the Oateses were in Yorkshire. Clearly, it's a strongly Yorkshire surname, so the likelihood of someone having come across it is great indeed. The greatest number of Oates entries were at Dewsbury (407), followed by Halifax (298), Bradford (191), Leeds (169), Sheffield (167) and Ecclesall Bierlow (162). Intriguingly, these top six places were followed by Truro at the other end of the country in Cornwall, where there were 104 Oates. Possibly a Yorkshire branch went down to Cornwall and flourished there. However, can you not see how ridiculously vague your question is? It's like asking if anyone has come across the name Smith! Try being more specific. * Source of figures: Surname Atlas, which analyses all the data from the 1881 census and produces instant distribution maps and tables. -- Roy Stockdill Editor, Journal of One-Name Studies Guild of One-Name Studies website: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." I can never remember exactly when it was but knew they both there after 1912 :) One day, *when* the DoVE project comes online, it won't matter becaue the spouse's surname and mother's maiden name will be in the indexes from 1837 on.
