Even checked if their children are on any but nothing so far. I can trace Harriet's family back to Liverpool, but Timothy's is elusive. We know by census he's from Cork, Ireland, but there are quite a few districts in Cork. I received his Marriage cert today and the only thing we have to go on is Father's name John deceased 1869 Timothy's age is 35 so birth 1834. 3. Hello, Kate, Thank you for your message. If it relates to my Peter LANTTHROPPE, can you tell me how Great Eyton relates to Ingleby Greenhow? Peter was probably born in about 1600 +/- a few years. Would there be any record of his birth in the early l600's? Thank you again for your offer, and I notice that you're being deluged with requests. Please place mine at the end of your line. CATELY Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.yks.general/15637.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: hello diamondlifestsyle, I would like to take advantaage of your kind offer to see if it will break down a long lasting wall for me which I gave up several years ago when I became frustrated with it. This relates to the last ancestor I found in my tree namely WILLIAM MALKIN born iin Garforth West Yorkshire cerca1750. There is an IGI record of him marrying MARY CATELY on the 12 January 1775 and I have records of the birth and christening of several of his children, one of which I come down from. The marriage information is from an IGI record submitted by an unknown member on Batch number 7123605, Sheet number 65, Call number 0538893. I was led to believe that these submissions were not always reliable but there is also another IGI record by another member, the information being also of the same marriage. Film numer 183542, Page number 777, Reference number 25504. At the time Icould not find any information on the parents of WILLIAM so whether they were from somewhere other than Garforth I do not know, and although I found several MALKIN families in Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Worcestershire, there was no way I could link them. The family seem to have been christened mainly at St. Peter's in Leeds I am ever hopeful of being able to go further back in time and maybe your records will show something I missed at the time. 3. You are most welcome Nancy As I said before we all had to learn at some point The set up for gatewayed posts is confusing but the boards can be another avenue to explore I have found that those that like the boards tend to stick to them, so it makes sense to go have a look every now and then The Boards can be searched just like the Lists can be from :- http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ Select Message Boards from the top bar menu It may surprise you to know there are over 161,000 Boards So you never know there may be your long lost relative lurking on one of them :-) Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > > Nivard - > > THAT is the clearest explanation I have EVER seen for this confusing > set-up! > Now I have a much clearer picture in my mind of boards and lists. > > Where were you when these all started??? > > Thank you ever so - and thank you for sharing it with the list.. > > Nancy > in cool, sunny Michigan, U S of A

    3. Not a problem Carol I hope you are in luck with your request Now we all learned about the lists and boards at some time or other so don't worry in the slightest if you haven't come across this before Rootsweb do Lists and Boards , often for similar places / names etc but they work in different ways Essentially a Board (as its name implies) you go to and place a message on it and hope others see it when they go there too, they then respond to the board for you to check on (and so on) Lists are more like a magazine to which you take a subscription, each time a new post is made you will get a copy of that post Some Boards are Gatewayed to a List that covers the same location / name or whatever , its a means to get the Board posters questions seen by people with similar interests but may not use the Boards (which obviously works as you can see :-) Board posters will not see list posts so the list subscriber has to go to the board to reply, as we have discussed earlier I hope that makes sense :-) As I said, don't worry about asking a question, you may be surprised how many are out there just wishing someone would ask the question so they can learn too Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Thank you again, Nivard, for your information and for posting my message > to the > board. The last ancestor in my family I have is, WILLIAM MALKIN born cerca 1750, Garforth W.Y. and married 12 January 1772 to Mary Cately. This iinformation is from an IGI individual record which was submitted by an unknown church member on Batch number 7123605 Sheet number65 Call number 0538893. I was led to believe that these submissions were not to be relied on but there is also another IGI record submitted by a member, the informataion being , Film number 183542, Page number 777, Reference number 25504. Both referring to the marriage. I have no information about WILLIAMS parents and I cant get any further unless your records show otherwise. The family seem to have been christened mainly at St Peter's in Leeds. Hope my wall can be broken through. Cheers Frank Malkin now in Paignton Devon.

Since then in our many moves a large box of Sandra's books along with others "walked."We would like to replace them but appear to be as rare as a Gutenberg. Till today I located one on Amazon today.Modest price. is there anyone on the Dales might know how we contact the Author? and find these A5 booklets again? thank you Josi Birkbeck Cherry, Harker, Spencely,Alderson Calvert Clarkson etc.....
