Hi Vivien - My family is COCKROFT coming from Bradford, York. with the parents and grandparents coming from Halifax. My great grandfather was Richard Cockroft born in 1838. My grandmother, Kate COCKROFT was born in Bradford in 1871. On Rootsweb Family Tree there are some Cockroft's which could be my ancestors.
