Greetings Derek Barraclough very kindly provided me with the 1861 census details for my BENSON family, then living at 12 Cork St Laisterdyke. Unfortunately my great grandmother Ann BENSON the person I was hoping to find living there was not there, she remains my brick wall. Her son David was being raised by his grandmother however I have a lot more family names to research as a result of Derek's work When I look at the 1881 census and the family of Richard and Hannah BENSON I see the following James William (Hannah Jane) BENSON Son U Male 12 Hannah Jane BENSON Daur U Female 8. Does any one know why James would have his sisters name in brackets after his name ?
