Many thanks. > Bye Anna Hello Anna The marriage is listed on FreeBMD (http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/) in Marriages Dec 1858 as HOWARD James Depwade 4b 675. If you click on the page number (675) you get a list of the names recorded on that page, which are : Howard James Lighton Caroline Todd John Clearly there is a name missing and not all of this quarter has been transcribed yet. The missing name could indeed be someone called Maria but nobody could possibly find her at the PRO (or at the Family Records Centre or anywhere else) without knowing a surname to look for. You could search the church marriage register from October to December 1858 if you knew which church they were married in, but presumably you don't know this. So I'm afraid that the only way you are likely to find who James HOWARD married is by paying for a marriage certificate. I hope you find these are the people you are looking for.
