I have been unable to find a Joseph Riley who was 14 and a worsted weaver in the 1871 census ever immigrating to NZ with the rest of the family in the late 1870's. I am wondering if he remained in Bradford. Can a look at the 1881 census and/or 1891 census confirm or refute this. The records of arrivals in NZ are not in the best shape.
