__________ Hi Elizabeth, I very much doubt if people in Thornton & Allerton went to Shipley to get married,as an alternative to Bradford Parish Church.There is a large church IN Thornton itself,the Parish Church of [I think] St.Andrew's.The records of this church,for baptisms,marriages & burials go back to 1678 !
