    3. Everyone A guide of the whole of Yorkshire'sdiverse and colourful archives is being made available to Bradford people. The booklet "Hidden Treasures, a Guide to Yorkshire's Archives", is available at archives, libraries, museums and tourist information centres throughout the city and surrounding area and showcases some many fine examples of family history, industry, maritime history and wartime. The guide includes details of the Bronte archives at the Parsonage Museum in Haworth and papers of the novelist John Braine at the West Yorkshire ARchive Service in Bradford. Annie Maugher, chief exec of Yorkshire Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLAC) said "knowing about where we have come from and our past, helps us to understand about ourselves in today's world. This knowledge is being very carefully looked after by a network of archives across Yorkshire. This very attractive and informative booklet will help people to be more aware about the treasures to be discovered across the region, and it's a fantastic experience to be able to read the words written long ago, which brings the past alive today." The booklet has been produced by the Yorkshire Archives Council in partnership with the MLAC. Anyone requiring further information or copies of the booklet should contact Claire DYSON on 0113 387 5425 Naturally I will see if I can manage to obtain some of these for some of you......................will take my sack over my shoulder and see how manage I can sneak out with! lol Warmest Wishes Jan in Bronte Country List admin ENG-YKS-Bradford.
