    3. Hi Elizabeth, I went to the library this arvo.to look for your Leach family on the 1841 microfilm for Allerton. Problem ! There were a lot of them !! I hardly expected to find William [b.1765] as he would have been c.76.;and I didn't. Problem !! There were several Johns [now there's a novelty !!!],but not one about 25 years old. There were some older & some younger, some with their parents, some with wives/kids etc.If you can give me more info.re possible names of spouses [or is the plural spise ?], and offspring, then I'll give it another go sometime. Success !!!!! I hope.I found a William who was exactly the age you indicated-35 as foliows-------- Bradford Census 1841,Allerton. Moorhouse. [All surnamed LEACH,all born Yorkshire] William, aged 35,Woolcomber. Martha, aged 30 Stephen, aged 8. Betty, aged 6. Joshua, aged 4. Jane, aged 1, ======================================= I just had time to take a quick look at the same family on the 1851 census card index. On that William's wife was 'Margaret' [Maybe I mis-read the 1841 name Martha ; the film was 'grotty'to say the least] There were 2 more kidlets---Mary and Charles. If this IS your family,I'll re-check '41 to verify the name 'Martha/Margaret'; and make a proper transcript of the 1851 entry. Cheers-------Derek.
