    3. ---I was born in Yorkshire, Halifax to be precise and was brought up to have Yorkshire Pudding with any roast meat. When my eldest daughter was 3 years old we visited my parents and were treated to a roast dinner. A few days later Eleanor, out of the blue commented that she had really enjoyed those "bouncing potatoes" that she'd eaten at Grandma's. It took some time to establish what had been my daughter's first encounter with that Yorkshire delicacy. Needless to say they continue to be known as bouncing potatoes in our household to this day, - Ellie is now 15 and embarrased by this! Christmas roast turkey would certainly noit be complete without them. BTW I would certainly say that I was working class by birth, but they can be served by the likes of Gary Rhodes today in the most high class retaurants in London!!!
