Hello folks. just had a 'google' and found that the game is one of the bat and ball variety. A wooden ball I believe. So some kind of sport and a lot of followers. Has anybody got information on how widespread it was, how played. only the two players were mentioned in the report Derek sent. Not a team game then? Could 10,000 people see what was going on ? It must have been pubicised to get that many spectators. Not ventured into sport research before.Where do I look for information, posters, other matches for my (possible) connection with 'Bill at Mount' 1859 Valerie N Yorks
