Hello I have just joined the mailing list and I would be interested in anyone researching JOWETT. My great grandmother was born <1862> in Bradford Emily JOWETT. This is the obvious thing to do if you wish to discover the names of her parents. Try FreeBMD first and if she is not there you will have to check the General Register Office Indexes (copies of which some libraries and Mormon FHCs in Australia have). If you are confident you have found the right entry, you can then download the application form from the GRO website and send it off to Southport, Merseyside, with the appropriate fee.
