BOILER EXPLOSION KILLS TWO - BRADFORD 1844 -11th March:- A boiler explosion took place at Squire's Mill, Thornton Road, Bradford, occupied by Messrs. ACKROYD and GREENWOOD, by which two person named:- John ROBINSON William RIGG, were killed, and several others severely injured. The accident was caused by putting on more power than the boiler could bear. Messrs. Ackroyd, and Messrs. Greenwood were properly censured by the coroner's jury.
