The entertainments comprised selections by a string band,conducted by Mr.Wm.Waddington ; sketches by Mr.S.H.Nichol ; performances by a number of children,including a representation of the comic drama 'A Rough Diamond'; selections by the Springwell Pierrots ; and music by the polyphone & gramophone, lent by Mr.R.Barraclough. The bazaar was largely patronised each day,the nett proceeds amounted to �205,which exceeded the anticipations of the promoters. ======================================== I hope someone out there recognises some of these 'Slack Siders' of a century ago,as their loved ones !
