Hi List During October Local History Month meeting will be taking place in Bradford at at half a dozen locations, including the Central Library, The Mechanics Institute and the Industrial Museum Here are some examples of the talks etc Cartwright Hall in Lister Park will hold a month long exhibition by Heaton & District Local History Group called Lister Park: Memories Past and Present. Industrial Museum, Eccleshill, the Bradford City Centenary Exhibition is now on and runs until November 16. This show is full of artefacts from our only professional football club's past. Some events are organised with Bradford Uni, one of them on October 16 at Bradford Central Library is a talk by Jo Stanley about the pioneering Yorkshire pilot - AMy Johnson. Baildon Library hosts a talk on October 20 - "A Tribute to Bradford's Factory Lasses" which included excerpts from Bradford Central Library's Oral History Collection. The following afternoon from 1.10 to 2pm at the Central Library Carol Greenwood, will present more from the Oral History Collection. Bradford Historical & Antiquarian Society is one of many such local groups, which has it's own programme of lectures (at the Central Library starting at 7.15 for all that follows) November 12 - talk cum exhibition called The Scum of the Earth, Enlisted for Drink? Wellington's Redcoats. Costumes and artefacts will be on display to illustrate a little of what it would have been like to have fought against Napoleon. Eileen White, author of the booklet "Idle Stones" is scheduled to give a talk about Idle on December 10. One February 11, the mystery of the carved pre-historic rocks on Rombolds Moor, is the subject of a talk by Gavin Edwards One hundred years ago, CArtwright Hall was opened as an art gallery. On March 10 Graham Hall will give a talk entitled "CArtwright Hall and the Bradford Exhibition" Yorkshire Luddites, the machine breakers of the INdustrial Revolution, will be the subject of a talk by John Hargreaves on May 12.
