Hello, Listers.... In response to Lori Mitchell's recent very interesting submissions on the funeral of Abraham Mitchell, I looked out the report of the Memorial service of a former Lady Mayoress, Sarah Jane Robinson. Sarah Jane was the wife of George Henry Robinson who was Lord Mayor of Bradford 1914-15 and who has links to my SURBUTS ancestors. Maybe some of you will recognise some of the following names. Yorkshire Observer Budget 22 Dec 1931 A Life of Usefulness - Memorial Service to Mrs G H Robinson A service in memory of Mrs Robinson, wife of Mr George H Robinson, of Horton Grange, Bradford (chairman of the Bradford Licensing Bench), and former Lady Mayoress of the City, was held at Tetley Street Congregational Church on Tuesday prior to interment at Undercliffe Cemetery. The Lord and Lady Mayoress of Bradford (Alderman and Mrs George Walker) were present, together with several ex-Lord Mayors and Lady Mayoresses. The Rev.A.H.Sutherland paid tribute to the late Mrs Robinson's many qualities, and observed that the city had lost a worthy character, The chief mourners were Mr George H Robinson, Mr and Mrs W Dracup, Miss Dracup, Mr and Mrs G R Dracup, Mrs A Peel, Mrs Parkinson, Mr and Mrs Wilkinson, Mrs Timpson, Mrs Ball, Mrs W Wilkinson, Mrs J Parkinson, Mr T Parkinson, Mr and Mrs A Dracup, Mrs J Dracup, Miss M Dracup, Mr and Mrs Empsall, Mr and Mrs Buckie, Mr and Mrs B M Riley, Mr and Mrs C Knightly, Miss Walmsley, Miss Hirst, Mrs Redhead, Miss Featonby, Nurse Crook, Miss Frost, Mr and Mrs R Wood, Mr and Mrs Holmes, Mr Grafdyk, Mr and Mrs Clapham, Miss Chippendale and Mr and Mrs Rawnsley.
