I can't give a complete answer but my great great grandfather, Benjamin ATKINSON, born 10 May 1795, was the son of William ATKINSON and Anne BARRACLOUGH. In Benjamin's will of 1870 he left some mahogany drawers which had belonged to his "uncle BARRACLOUGH" to his daughter Susannah SMITH. Perhaps the full answer to the question lies on a scrap of paper in one of the drawers. Seriously though I would love to hear from someone who recognises a connection. Best wishes to all.
