Its for real as I did have it on my computer. We followed the instructions and have got rid of it. Trouble is we don't know how long its been there. So I don't want anyone losing their precious Genealogy material. Virus detectors don't pick it up because it isn't activated until the 24 days are up. Sorry about this although we haven't had anything to do with it. Good luck, Hilary, Australia. --------------A667EB38568CEC2EC5CE11FF Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Received: by mail3 (mbox roygirl) (with Cubic Circle's cucipop (v1.31 1998/05/13) Fri Apr 4 20:44:31 2003) X-From_: royboy@cybernex.net.au Thu Apr 3 21:40:06 2003 Received: from bilbo.cybernex.net.au (qmailr@bilbo.cybernex.net.au [203.28.168.3]) by mx.alphalink.com.au (8.11.6/8.9.3) with SMTP id h33BaTK07891 for <roygirl@alphalink.com.au>; Thu, 3 Apr 2003 21:36:29 +1000 Received: (qmail 20872 invoked by uid 0); 3 Apr 2003 21:13:30 -0000 Received: from pppr1.cybernex.net.au (HELO NEILMARKS) (203.28.168.31) by bilbo.cybernex.net.au with SMTP; 3 Apr 2003 21:13:30 -0000 Message-ID: <001601c2f9d5$d6884400$1fa81ccb@NEILMARKS> From: "Neil & Karen" <royboy@cybernex.net.au> To: <Undisclosed-Recipient:;> Subject: Fw: Teddy Bear Virus Date: Thu, 3 Apr 2003 21:39:11 +1000 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2600.0000 X-Virus-Scanned: by AMaViS perl-11 X-Spam-Status: No, hits=3.0 required=6.7 tests=OUTLOOK_FW_MSG,OUTLOOK_UNDISC_RECIPS,SPAM_PHRASE_05_08, TO_MALFORMED version=2.44-dm_020403_1815 X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 Subject: Teddy Bear Virus I found I had this virus and am now following the instructions below to alert all in my address book! I got an email from a colleague that if I am in his address book I may have a virus. Sure enough I had it when I followed the instructions. You are receiving this alert because you are in my address book. Please follow theinstructions carefully to avoid problems in your computer within 14 days. It is easy to clear. The virus is called JDBGMGR.EXE and is not detected by Norton or McAfeeanti-virus programs. It sits quietly for 14 days before damaging thesystem. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book, whether or notyou send emails. ..The good news it is an easy fix. 1. Go to start button in lower left corner. Click on it and then move your pointer up to "find" or "search", and then click on "files or folders" 2. A new window will open. Type in the top space the name "JDBGMGR.EXE" 3. Make sure it is set to search your "C" drive (or whatever your main drive designation is.) 4. Click "find now" or "search" 5. The virus has a Teddy Bear logo with the name JDBGMGR.EXE 6. STOP! DO NOT OPEN!! DO NOT OPEN!!! 7. Right click on the logo and point and click on "delete" on the window. Note: It the search indicates that you have multiple copies of this file, youmust delete each copy. 8 Go to recycle bin on your desktop and right click on it and then empty recycle bin. 9.
