Thanks for the note Sharon. Unfortunately it is more than just the date: it is his occupation, his place of birth given on the census, and the fact that I cannot find his children's births anywhere. It is looking likely that the marriage of Thomas BREARE and Martha ROBINSON in Addingham, at just the right time, was a red herring which has taken me in the wrong direction. Thomas and Martha BREAR may well have originated in Manningham after all, as the registers for St Lukes Church in Manningham appear to be available only in Bradford Archives, so somehow I need to get a look at them.
