Tim I am still desperately trying to sort out my Manningham BREARS, without too much success. I'm pretty sure now that my Thomas and Martha Brear originated in Bradford, not Addingham, but I can find neither birth nor marriage for them. However, I have the following information which may (or may not) be of interest to you, supplied by two helpful ladies who have the Addingham records. A Samuel Breare, son of Joshua Breare, was born in Addingham on 10 Feb 1798. The reason I think you might be interested in him is that there are also lots of Robinsons in Addingham. Thomas Breare, who married Martha Robinson in 1809, and who I hoped might be 'mine' called his son Robinson too. Hope this helps Regards Margaret ----- Original Message ----- From: "derek deShelfe" <derekdeShelfe1@activemail.co.uk> To: <ENG-YKS-BRADFORD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2003 4:31 PM Subject: Re: [ BRAD] BREAR,1841 Census,Bradford. > [For Tim,but he wont mind you sharing the info.] > Hi Tim, > I had some unexpected time on my hands this afternoon,so I went to the > library for your look-up. > It was one of the easiest I've ever done > There were 11 Brear refs.for Manningham > and yours was the 2nd.I looked at > BRADFORD CENSUS 1841,Manningham District > Skinner Lane. > [All surnamed BREAR ; all born Yorkshire > Samuel, aged 40,Stuff weaver > Nanny,40 > Mary,20,Factory weaver > Hannah,19,Factory Stuff weaver > Elizabeth,15, do. > Joseph,10 > Maria,9 > Robinson ? 6 > Solomon,3 > Eliza,9 months > ======================================= > Tim,do you think Nanny's maiden name might have been ROBINSON ?
