In trying to find the parents of William MORTIMER and his wife Hannah MILLER of Drighlington and Gomersall respectively, I have searched the following: IGI Film of Bishops Transcripts for Birstall Parish Microfiche as above What I found is: William MORTIMER probably b.17 December 1777 at Birstall (Drighlington) Clothier. This is the most likely birth with the parents being Thomas and Mary MORTIMER of Birstall Syke, Clothier. Hannah MILLER b.19 October 1777 Gomersall Married 24 August 1797 Birstall Children all registered at Drighlington: Esther (transcribed Easter) b. 7 March 1798 Mary b. 14 Sept 1800 Meriah b. 30 Jan 1803 Frances b. 6 April 1806 My search, and the identification of the children, has been hampered due to the marriage of William MORTIMER to Hannah SPENCER on 28 Feb 1798 at Birstall. This William was a Standishmaker (maker of pen and ink stands) of Cleckheaton. The occupation has been my only way of separating them. Neither the LDS Film, nor the fiche, gave full registration details. Is there anyone who has access to this information and could check it for me, please?
