Hi Norman, The only one that is coming up on FreeBMD is in the last quarter of 1838 in Totnes, Devon which cross refs with Mary Hosking. The only other marriage for a James Petherbridge is 1839 last quarter, but it doesn't cross ref to a Mary. FreeBMD have covered all the indexes up to the census time except all of 1838 last quarter and1839 last quarter, so I checked those manually. I rechecked the 1841 census and Mary was definitely born in the county of Yorkshire, so it looks like they were married before 1837 or not married of course.
