My mother and her friends lived in Regent Street and New York in Shipley around 1915 but I can't find any trace of these locations in current streetmaps. I have an old Alan Godfrey map but just can't lay my hands on it right now !!! If anybody can tell me where these locations were, preferably with a map, I'd be grateful. Regards, Barry Emmott
I thought perhaps you might be able to throw some light on the 1891 EMMOTTs shown below? The relationships as you will see are all very unclear. Nancy STEAD nee LUMB is my ggg grandmother. Barry I confirm the street names you name do not show in the index of the current Philip's street map. During the 1960's when the current market place was created a lot of terrace housing was demolished to create a car park immediately to the SE of the current market square. I think this would be a good place to look if / when you can find a map Regards Charles ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barry Emmott" <[email protected]> To: "ENG-YKS-BRADFORD-L Rootsweb" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 26, 2006 9:56 PM Subject: [ENG-YKS-BRADFORD] Searching for a road in old Shipley > My mother and her friends lived in Regent Street and New York in Shipley > around 1915 but I can't find any trace of these locations in current > streetmaps.
