Hi Barry There is a Regent St off Leeds Road at Thackley End, and there was a New York not too far away at Rawdon Carrs near Rawdon (New York Lane still exists). Thackley End is about two miles from the centre of Shipley, and could be a possibility. You could try the oldmaps site, which date from the late 19th century and look for New York.
