Good morning Listers I am seeking any information on the HAMMOND family, in particular Benjamin, who was a lock keeper on the Leeds / Liverpool Canal in 1841. He and his family are on the census of that year living at Hammond Locks. I cannot locate this set of locks on current L&L maps, but they must be somewhere around the Idle, Thackley, Calverley area of Bradford. Any help would be welcome. Thanks in advance. There's a very detailed 1851 map on http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ which you can enlarge and search along the canal - a fiddly job, but might be worth a shot!
