Hi All I have come across a book written in 1909 about the first 50 years of the history of Great Horton Industrial Society . According to the book, a co-operative in Great Horton predates the Rochdale co-op but no record has survived. The book contains a map dated 1827, with the names of the land owners noted, although I have yet to align the map with the current roads etc. The names of the Committee members are also listed for the 50 years, along with 37 photographs of some of them. Dear John Any chance of you posting the list of committee members on line and a copy of the map. My wife's family, Robertshaws were farmers and lay preachers in the area and if there are any references to them we would much welcome any information you have. Hello John Do you have any details on the book as my family lived in Horton for many generations?
