    1. RE: [ BRAD] 1841 census help please BROGDEN
    2. Stephen Smith
    3. Hello, I spotted the interest in the BROGDEN name. I don't know if it is a unusual name, but I don't recall it cropping up before. But it rang a bell with some of my previous research. I have the LW&T of one of my ancestors, William SKIRROW, of Dubb, Bingley, who died about Dec 1901. His Will was witnessed by both John BROGDEN and John BROGDEN Junior. I have no other reference to these names - it may be that they were simply Solicitors, or there in some legal capacity, as opposed to being family friends. But I've often wondered. My John "Thomas" Brogden lived in Denholme, a part of Bradford. The family ended up in Wakefield. I am still searching for his father but I think his mother or his mother's sister was Mary Brogden of Ilkley. I have the brochure of the 1841 Census of Ilkley. Please let me know if I can help or if you get emails which might help me. 3. Dear Stephen I am researching Brogden also. My John "Thomas" Brogden married Susey Smith of Denholme, Bradford, but he was dead by 1901. He died in Leeds Infirmary. None of his sons were John. My Smiths were from Keighley, moving to Denholme by the 1841 Census. Hannah Smith was a Shackleton prior to her marriage in 1826. I think there was Sugden involved in her or his mother as one of their children was called Sugden Smith. Good luck Jaz sorry for the delay in my response.
