From: "HELEN" <helenh48@westnet.com.au> > Isn't that because there was one register for females and one for > males?> In over 30 years in family history, I have yet to see a parish register that was divided into males and females! It is only the LDS Church that introduced the dichotomy when doing extractions, and then only with the J and K batch numbers. Look at any register or BTs with the usual C batch number and it contains both sexes. -- Roy Stockdill Editor, Journal of One-Name Studies Guild of One-Name Studies website: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
