    1. Re: [YKS-BRADFORD] Alhambra Hotel
    2. Hi Keith, My name is Sharon Pollard and I initiated that discussion on the Alhambra Hotel. Jane Winpenny (Whitaker), wife of Samuel was a sister to my ancestor John Whitaker. John named one of his sons, Samuel Winpenny Whitaker, named I am assuming after his sister's brother. Samuel is my great grandfather. I was researching this family when I came across the entry in the 1881 census. I thought it was an interesting entry and inquired of the list about the Alhambra Hotel. Members of the list were quite helpful to me. As a postscript, Samuel and Jane (Whitaker) Winpenny and my great grandfather Samuel Winpenny Whitaker, left England around 1890 and settled in Lawrence, MA, USA. A large number of people from Bradford settled in the Lawrence, MA area.
