Hello Margaret Although you may not be able to see the marriage licence itself (as Roy Stockdill confirmed) the marriage Bonds and Allegations (as they are called) have been transcribed and published by Borthwick Institute, York. You should be able to find the application for the Licence in the transcription. A copy is available in Bradford Central Library. It should give you additional information as to the Parish of origin and ages of the putative bride and groom as well as the Church(s) contemplated for the ceremony Peter R Wood in the Isle of Man Researching:- WOOD of Bramley, Leeds and Bradford and thereabouts WILLIAMSON of Rawdon, Guiseley, Yeadon and Bradford

    3. Thank you for the information Peter. I shall be in touch with Bradford Library, but as the charge is £22 for an hour's research (minimum time) and as I have the date and details of this Bond and Allegation so it should be fairly easy, I'm going to see if there is anything else I should like them to look at before I make the research request!
