If you want to see the original of a marriage licence, I have one for 1831 which was somehow preserved in my husband's family and is now in my possession. I can scan it and send as an attachment to anyone interested Ros -----Original Message----- From: eng-yks-bradford-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-yks-bradford-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Peter R Wood Sent: 04 January 2008 10:28 To: eng-yks-bradford@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [YKS-BRADFORD] ENG-YKS-BRADFORD Digest, Vol 3, Issue 3 In message <mailman.50797.1199400814.18604.eng-yks-bradford@rootsweb.com>, eng-yks-bradford-request@rootsweb.com writes >> Thomas HAIGH and Mary LISTER were married by licence with >> consent of parents in Bradford Cathedral on 2/7/1818. Hello Margaret Although you may not be able to see the marriage licence itself (as Roy Stockdill confirmed) the marriage Bonds and Allegations (as they are called) have been transcribed and published by Borthwick Institute, York. You should be able to find the application for the Licence in the transcription. A copy is available in Bradford Central Library. It should give you additional information as to the Parish of origin and ages of the putative bride and groom as well as the Church(s) contemplated for the ceremony Peter R Wood in the Isle of Man Researching:- WOOD of Bramley, Leeds and Bradford and thereabouts WILLIAMSON of Rawdon, Guiseley, Yeadon and Bradford ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ENG-YKS-BRADFORD-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
