Hi Roy, I do not think Thomas is a brother for two reasons 1. I have never found a Thomas in my paternal grandfathers ancestors (both my paternal grandparents were called Holdsworth, my paternal grandmothers family were born around Clifton and Bailiff Bridge). 2. The parents of David Edwin and his 7 brothers and sisters I believe to be John Holdsworth and Elizabeth Beecroft. This I base on a) David Edwins birth certificate and the birth cert of his younger brother James. b) the fact that their 1st son in 1824 was called Joseph Beecroft Holdsworth c) The fact that their 3rd daughter born 1834 was called Susannah Beecroft Holdsworth d) On the 1861 census John and Elizabeth have his mother in law staying with them called Susannah Beecroft. All the children of John and Elizabeth that are present on census records I have found on familysearch - christened in Bradford. The only Thomas Holdsworths christened circa 1833 in Bradford and with a father called John had mothers of a different name. This may be a cousin but as I have not definatively traced John Holdsworth (tailor) and his parents/siblings this is difficult to establish.
