    3. I thought I would post my surname intersets. They are Ada/Adah PICKARD - Bradford, father's name either William or John McNulty Martin, born Ireland. Ada Pickard married Martin McNulty in 1871, by 1880 she had immigrated to New Zealand after leaving him with 3 young children. Records I have recently come across tells me he was a Roman Catholic. Ada remarried in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1880 to my 2x Great Grandfather. In approx. 1882-1883 she sent for her two daughters. I am interested to hear from anyone researching the above names. 3. Could you please turn off your caps lock? Posting a message all in capital letters is known in netiquette as "shouting". It makes it extremely difficult to read and simply annoys people, which is why you probably won't get any replies to the messages you have posted in this manner. The only time we use capitals in mailing lists is where they are needed at the start of a sentence or to distinguish proper nouns. It is, however, acceptable (recommended, even) to post the surnames of the parties you are interested in in capitals, in order to make them easily noticeable. Posting your entire message in caps totally destroys the purpose of this effect! You have further compounded the offence by posting no fewer than six messages in the identical style. This is a severe case of overkill. Try again - but next time post giving all the information you wish to publish in just ONE message in lower case, using capitals where necessary, and explain yourself clearly. Not a good start, I fear, but we are a welcoming and friendly lot, with a good deal of expertise between us, and we are always willing to forgive a newcomer his first mistake! 3. Hi Debbie, Welcome to the list and your first attempt to post. It is a scary procedure the first time, I remember it well but you will soon get the hang of it. As you are a new person to computers as well could I point out the it is usual to post with the cap lock off. It makes it difficult to read with it on. Don't worry about it we all have to learn. And post any time you wish. Elaine Pickard. Ottawa. Canada. List Admin Bradford Mailing List. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 3. Hi Katie, A Martha (also known as Mattey) Robertshaw (1813-1836), daughter of John Robertshaw, married John Tetley in 1829. Martha is buried at Sandy Lane Baptist church, Swain Royd Bottom. James Robertshaw (1837-1912), who farmed at Steps, Allerton, married Alice Tetley in 1884. From the ages, it maybe wasn't his first marriage! At Calverley, is recorded the marriage of Martha TETLEY widow o.t.p who married John ROBERTSHAW widower on 19th October 1824 (page 482 number 1444) I can't work out which Tetley she was the widow of, so I'd be grateful for any help with that one, as well as any further information on the others.
