    1. [ BRAD] 1861 Census look up request with address - Bankfoot Bradford
    2. Martin Bentley
    3. Greetings fellow Bradfordians, I was wondering if anyone who was visiting Bradford library in the futiure, and who had a spare few minutes, would be able to look for my 3 x Gt Grandfather and family in the 1861 Census. >From information I have, I believe they will be at Rooley Lane, Bankfoot, Bradford. The names I am looking for are: Squire ORMONDROYD and his wife Ann. The spelling of the name may be just ORMOND, but he should stand out with children named Isabella, Amos, Israel, Uriah and Aquilla! Both Squire and Ann should be aged about 32 years. All were born in Bradford. I am particularly interested in finding other children I am not aware of. I would also be delighted to hear from anyone else interested in this most unusual surname. I have lots of information on the ORMONDROYDS who were mainly from the Wibsey area. Thanks in advance Martin Bentley ________________________________________________________ If you have BENTLEY from the West Riding of Yorkshire in your tree - check out my website at www.westridingbentley.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk ________________________________________________________

I am hoping to visit WYorkshire in a few weeks, and am trying to get as much detail as I can before I leave. Can SKS tell me how I can find out for sure? Regards, Knola Jeffery, New Zealand.

    1. [ BRAD] FEATHER family in Haworth
    2. dawn bradfield (SO)
    3. Can anyone out there confirm or deny the following for me please? Robert FEATHER m. Susan SUTCLIFE 28 July 1789 at Haworth (this is taken from the IGI but is NOT a transcribed record - it's a members record). Children of Robert FEATHER (from IGI Batch C018513) - are any/all these from the above marriage? Robert - 09/06/1807 Robert - May 1808 Joseph - 25/12/1807 Edward - 23/7/1805 Edward - 25/7/1811 Mary - 07/5/1800 John - 28/8/1810 Jonas - 09/5/1798 Thomas - 04/8/1795 Susannah - 7/11/1809 Benjamin - 31/12/1804 James - 22/2/1803 If SKS is visiting Keighley Library or even Bradford (if they've got a copy of the Parish Registers) could they perform a quick check to see if there are more detail in the Registers that may shed some light? Out of the two possible christenings for my 3xG.Grandfather Robert FEATHER of New Halifax, Bradford (but born in Haworth according to the 1851 census) if these children are all of the same parents there is actually some recurring family names in there..... Robert, John, Susannah, James, Edward (actually Edwin in a later generation - but you never know) Bright Blessings Dawn (in dreary Swindon)

    1. [ BRAD] Edwards & Howards Families.
    2. Jan Perkins
    3. Hi List I have just bought some photographs, not sure where they belong really, BUT if any of you come across a Rev. Douglas EDWARDS, Dr TAYLOR, Miss BECK, Mr HORNS, taken near Bera Tarn...these must belong to some-one mention of the HOWARD family including Marjorie HOWARD, H.J. HOWARD & Ruby and I think Rosemary CANTLEY age 4, John CANTLEY age 7. They are really lovely, in black and white, but so much family history in them, including Kim the dog. Some taken at Felpham (which I believe is in Sussex) and more taken at Troutbeck, and Thirlmere. I know this is a long shot, but if anyone knows any of these names, give me a shout..........could be local famies, but could be much further afield. Warmest Wishes Jan in Bronte Country

    3. Hi Carol, Welcome to the list........ Don't worry about any toes that you are stepping on, you did a grand job for your first posting. No problem at all. I know my husband will be replying to you as his research is with the name of PICKARD. But as you probably know Bradford & Leeds were full of them..... Though a little further South in my home city of Sheffield it was a very unusual name at the turn of the century. Good luck and I hope we do have a connection. Kindest regards. Elaine Pickard.
