For David, who wanted some information about William Binns buried 1854 at Haworth. I have some fiche here at local LDS centre, found a one-line entry for him - William Binns abode was Bingley buried 16 May 1854 48 yrs of age the minister was Thomas Jackson of Thornton. I know there is a list of monumental inscriptions on film or fiche for the Church of England cemetery aat Haworth. Patrick Bronte was minister there for some years. As you would konw, he is father of the famous Bronte sisters who wrote novels. I can't find the exact number of film to order but if you ask at a Mormon centre they can look it up. It was name-indexed at the front to make it easy and had drawings of the plans of setout. Aileen in Australia

Hello Howard I don't suppose, by any chance, that the Caroline Jane HOLMES who you mention was the daughter of Samuel HOLMES and Betty PICKLES was she? Fingers crossed! There was a SCARBOROUGH family in Kildwick, and quite possibly others too, so I guess this will have come from the surname. Hi Listers, I am wondering if there are still people on the list who have the Brith/Baptism for Florence Jane Bottomley married Rufus Mitchell June QRT 1875. I think I have found her on the 1901 census living with a daughter Josephine born around 1877... Would like to hear from anybody with any knowledge of this family .. Kind regards Lori Mitchell
Lori, she was born 20-Aug-1855 and baptised 15-Sep-1855 in St Michaels & All Angels Shelf (per a transcription given to me of the Baptism Register) Florence Bottomley, to Samuel Bottomley and Caroline Jane Holmes. The name therein is Florence only, not Florence Jane which she seemed to have acquired by the time she married. Would be grateful if you could let me have the 1901 details. I take it you still haven't found her in 1881? Regards Howard Geddes

I thought I would post my surname intersets. They are Ada/Adah PICKARD born 1846 Heaton, Bradford, father's name either William or John Martin McNULTY, born Ireland. Ada Pickard married Martin McNulty in 1871, by 1880 she had immigrated to New Zealand after leaving him with 3 young children. Records I have recently come across tells me he was a Roman Catholic. Ada remarried in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1880 to my 2x Great Grandfather. In approx. 1882-1883 she sent for her two daughters. I am interested to hear from anyone researching the above names. Here is my connection to COCKCROFT Matilda STOW was born in Cote Hill near Warley near Halifax who married a Benjanin DRAKE in 1860....in Bradford. ( Benjamin was born in WYKE near Halifax.) The Thomas DRAKE came to NZ in 1888..... the following details are from the 1881 census, it looks like they had gone South to Bristol by the birth of the last two DRAKES. Some thing must have happened to Benjamin, and she had returned to Bradford or Halifax, She must have married again by the birth of the last two children back in Bradford, but the is no sign of their father, Could SKS check for their marriage. Do you have any clue to this problem. Hi Folks, Below please find the list of additions and updates to the Genuki Yorkshire site for the past 4 weeks. Tana Willis-Johnson has kindly donated her collected copies of church photographs, mainly for the Halifax area (and mainly taken by Chris Rothery). I list below her photographs which are not from the immediate Halifax area, and you will find on the Genuki Halifax parish page the list of the churches for Halifax town and the townships nearby - even these I have had to split on to separate pages as there are so many of them! There are quite a few of these yet to be dealt with. I have also added nearly a megabyte of data for Sheffield as you will see below.
