However IGI FamilySearch lists the christening of a Mary HAIGH at Bradford Parish Church on 25 Dec 1821 with father John HAIGH and mother Sarah. Could this be your Mary ? 3. I am very confused about several records missing from the IGI for Bradford, even though my Phillimore Atlas and Index implies that all the Parish Church has been photographed. I thought at first it was just my BREAR family, as I was missing Thomas BREAR (b1788), his marriage to Martha (abt 1809) and the birth of his son David (1818) and most of his other children too. However I am now unable to find the birth of Mary HAIGH who died in 1898 age 77 (= birth 1821). All seem certainly to have been born in Bradford, probably in Manningham. Am I just unlucky? Is there something I don't know? Can anybody help? Regards Margaret Switzerland

I ordered the marriage certificate, but it gave me no information I did not know, and no addresses. Could someone please look at the banns for this marriage to see if they can offer me any help. 3. I have just been looking up a birth on 1837 online, the year that I was looking in was 1840. I thought that the writing was terrible, so I have decided to write and congratulate all the transcribers who transcribe for FREE BMD. Without them, our searching would be much harder to do. I will never use 1837 online again, once my credits have ran out. Thank you once again for doing the transcriptions for us. Diane --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 1. [ BRAD] Need some direction or assistance, Please.
    2. Sherrie Wright
    3. Hello, I am trying to locate my 2 g-grandfather and his sister. They were both born in England and had other siblings as well. George Middleton was born June 7, 1846 and his sister Mary Ellen was born 12 Apr. 1857. George and his sister and possibly 2 brothers left England and came to Canada in 1866 landing in St. John, New Brunswick, unfortunately there are no passenger records. The brothers were thought to have returned to England fairly soon. I have located all of George and his sister's marriage and death records as well as their obituaries, children's birth records, but all it says is "England" for place of birth. No parents names. I created a database with from the GRO records with every George Middleton from 1845-47, and every Mary Ellen, and Ellen from 1856-1858. I then highlighted similar counties (? not sure that's what you call them) in similar colors. I only got one match, both in West Riding. George Middleton June quarter 1846 Ecclesal Bierlow Mary Ellen Middleton June quarter 1857 Bradford Since Mary Ellen was born in Bradford I was hoping the family had moved from Ecclesal Bierlow to Bradford and were still there in the 1860 census. Someone was kind enough to look up all the Middleton's in Bradford in the 1860 census and gave me the Piece number, Enumeration District, and folio for each one. (I have the list if anyone could use it to help me, just let me know). I am not sure how best to put this information to work for me. I would like to put George and Mary Ellen in the same house in the 1860 census. I do not have a local LDS site that I can travel to. Could someone please tell me how best to proceed. This is my last brick wall in England and I would love to see my way through it. Any assistance would be gratefully received. Kind Regards ~ Sherrie ~ USA, Maine

    2. Roy Stockdill
    3. I will be off the list for a while, since I am leaving tomorrow for the USA and our family reunion next weekend at the Allenberry Resort, Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, hosted by my American cousins. This will be the 5th reunion we have attended, three in America, one in Victoria BC and one in Leeds, which I organised in 1997. Officially, it's called the Ambler-Stockdill Reunion, since my American cousins all descend from James Henry Ambler of Leeds, who married Fanny Jane Stockdill, a cousin of my Bradford grandfather, at Kennington, south London, in 1885 and who then migrated to the States in 1907. Ambler descendants and Stockdills will be coming from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, Connecticut, North Carolina and Colorado, also from Alberta, Canada, and seven of us from England. We have booked the entire Allenberry Resort for next Friday night and I understand the local populace (and police) have been alerted ! I hope also to indulge my keen interest in the American Civil War with a visit to the Gettysburg battlefield. Philadelphia will have the pleasure of our company for a few days beforehand and I want to thank those who responded to my request a while ago for things to do and see there, if I omitted to thank everyone personally. Then it's on to Washington for a few more days before we return to Blighty. So if anyone e-mails me in the meantime, please be patient and I will respond on my return. Oh - and my thanks to everyone who stopped to chat at the York Family History Fair. I enjoyed seeing lots of old friends and it was another great day. 3. Colin, Thank you for the "map"!! It is such a help! My family and I went to Yorkshire, years ago, and just did a day tour. The map helps make sense of our trip. 1. [ BRAD] Genuki Yorkshire additions and updates.
    2. Colin Hinson
    3. Hi Folks, Please find below the list of Genuki Yorkshire additions and updates for the past 4 weeks or so. This list is posted to all the Yorkshire Rootsweb lists, so my apologies if you have multiple copies. My thanks to all who have contributed, and if I left anyone out of the list, please let me know. In view of the number of "Where is it" queries on some of the lists, I should like to point out that there is on the Genuki Yorkshire site a set of pages called "Where is it in Yorkshire". To the best of my knowledge, these contain the names with links to a description of all the Hamlets, Villages and towns in Yorkshire, and in some cases, single houses too. (If you know different, then please tell me about it). You will also find maps - wapentakes, parishes, and a detailed map of Yorkshire, designed with the Family Historian in mind (it shows which places were in which parish). You will find the "Where is it" pages at: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/Misc/Where/ please remember to read the all notes, as they may save you some searches in future. If you are looking for somewhere that isn't listed try using the full list of place names and doing a text search on the list - for intance if you are looking for Aughty Bridge and do a search for "y Bridge" you will find Oughty Bridge...........etc. If you are looking for nearby places, don't forget to use the "Nearby places" double headed arrow at the top of each parish page - this will give you grid references too. You will find the maps under the Maps heading on the main Genuki Yorkshire page. You will also find a heap of other information on that page too. There are currently a total of approx. 10,500 pages on the Genuki Yorkshire site - enough to keep you reading for a week or so<g>. 3. Hi List, I am tracing the origin of FAGLEY HOUSE in Moorside Eccleshill in Bradford. I know that Benjamin FARRER lived there from 1827 to 1832. He was left money and property from his Uncle John JOBSON who died in 1826. I want to find out if John JOBSOn built Fagley House and left it to his nephew Benjamin or did Benjamin built it himself. Is anyone going to West Yorkshire Archives where I believe they hold deeds of property from 1704 - 1970. Thanks, Maureen in Australia
