    1. [ BRAD] UK Census in 2006 ???
    2. Jan Perkins
    3. An interesting item sent to the Shropshire list today: According the UK Financial Times there may be another Census in the UK in 2006. Quote : "A new population survey could be held in an attempt to rectify the shortcomings of the 2001 census, the government's statistics watchdog has said. Professor David Rhind, the new chairman of the Statistics Commission, said he was considering calling for a new population survey in 2006 to meet the objections of local authorities, which have complained of huge mistakes in the results. The census two years ago - which cost more than £250m and suffered a range of operational problems - is hailed by the Office for National Statistics as "the most accurate count of the UK population ever". ==== ENG-LIVERPOOL Mailing List ==== Admin Message (updated May 2003) http://freespace.virgin.net/genealogical.collections/AdminMessage.htm

    1. [ BRAD] Burials
    2. I hoping for an answer - maybe from Derek. My grt. grandfather, Richard COCKROFT, died on 24 Aug. 1906 and is buried in Scholemoor Cemetery. In April of this year I wrote to Scholemoor asking for grave information on him and his two wives and family information. Unfortunately the cemetery personnel have not answered by letter. What I need to know is where the grave is and are both wives there and possibly other members of the Cockroft family. They did have a young son, John, who died in May 1878. The first wife was Abigail TETLEY COCKROFT born in Ovenden. She died on 12 Aug. 1892 in their home at 17 Richmond Rd., Bradford. Richard remarried Mrs. Elizabeth HANBY in Sept. 1893. I have no idea when she died. Can anyone assist me? Thank you. Diane in California

    3. I have two references for KERSHAW who died in Bradford, and rather than just order yet another 'wrong' certificate, I wondered if anyone could give me any additional information about them. I am looking for the deaths of Richard and Sarah KERSHAW. The reference for Richard is in the third quarter 1874, when he would have been about 77, and for Sarah it is in the fourth quarter of 1778, when she would have been about 80. Thank you Margaret Switzerland

    1. [ BRAD] BRETHERICK, MITCHELL interests
    2. Lisa Bretherick
    3. Hello list, I've been listening in for a while and thought it was about time that I shared my interests. My great-grandparents, Arthur Bretherick and Sarah Ellen Mitchell, lived in Wibsey after marrying in 1893; Arthur was from Wibsey and Sarah was from Wyke. They moved to America in 1894 and eventually settled in Philadelphia. There has been a lot of research into the Brethericks in and around Bramley and we ultimately hook into this tree but our part of the family settled in Bradford in the early 1800's. I am interested in any Bretherick connections in the Bradford area but my direct ancestors are: John BRETHERICK m. Sarah ?, 1857, lived on Holroyd Hill, Wibsey all his life George BRETHERICK m. Hannah GAWTHROP, 1830, lived on Bank Top, Wibsey Christopher BRETHERICK m. Sarah GLEDHILL, 1797 in Birstall parish, lived in Adwalton I am also just beginning research into the Mitchell's. Sarah Ellen's family are: Jonathan MITCHELL m. Hannah ? around 1863, lived on Perseverance Street, New Side Road, Wyke, siblings Fred (b.1863), Mary E. (b. 1866), Harry (b. 1869) If anybody else is researching these families, I would love to hear from you. Lisa Bretherick New York -- Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas. 3. I am interested in any information regarding the following family. This was taken from the 1851 census. Has anyone on the list any connections to this family. Ada is my 2x great grandmother. She first married Martin McNulty in 1871. I am interested in finding information regarding this relationship as I have information stating that Ada left him and came to New Zealand between 1874-1879. Apparently he was Catholic. Where can I find information regarding this marriage. Is there any records on film regarding Catholic marriages in Bradford? I would also like information regarding William Pickard born approx.1804 in Chapeltown. On Ada’s deaths certificate it states that her father’s name was John,he may have died and left Ada in the care of his parents. 3. Hello Ann There aren't any PHILLIPS [or variants] living in Baildon in 1851. The 1851 Census Index is a full name transcription not just a surname index.
