His wife was called Mary (maiden name n/k). They had a number of children ,all born in Middlesbrough between 1887 and 1903. I have done a lot of work on the Sagar family of Allerton. In 1666 James Sagar set up the Sagar charity.I have a couple of references to it in the nineteenth Century , and then the trail goes cold. I have recently been told that the charity still exists and that there recently has been an advertisement about it in Denholme Post Office . also on the net I found a reference to Sagar's almshouses.
