David and Elizabeth has the following children: William JACQUES (bap. 7 Jan 1816, Keighley; d. 14 Jul 1834, Keighley). Elizabeth JACQUES (bap. 5 Sep 1819, Keighley) married George MASON. John Corlass JACQUES (bap. 5 Sep 1819, Keighley; d. 7 May 1889, Wilsden) married Rebecca GREENWOOD on 11 Sep 1842 in Bradford. 3 children. David JACQUES (bap. 24 Jun 1821, Keighley) married Ann. Charles JACQUES (bap. 7 Jul 1822, Keighley). Henry JACQUES (bap. 5 Oct 1824, Keighley), married Mary HOLLINGS in 1850 in Keighley. 9 children. My gg-grandfather Plateras Lawson JACQUES (bap. 10 Nov 1828, Keighley; d. 3 Oct 1870, Keighley), married Ellen JENNINGS, daughter of Jonathan JENNINGS and Sarah on 15 Jul 1851 in Bradford. Alice JACQUES (bap. 10 Nov 1828, Keighley). George JACQUES (bap. 19 Sep 1832, Keighley; d. 14 Jan 1895, Silsden) married Arabella HOLMES, daughter of Thomas HOLMES on 16 Oct 1854 in Keighley. 6 children. Archibald Gilhouse JACQUES (bap. 19 Sep 1832, Keighley; d. 6 Mar 1833, Keighley). I have the KDFHS monumental inscriptions for JACQUES from the Utley Cemetery as well as marriages and deaths from the Keighley News. What I don't have is census information other than 1881 and 1901. He is thought to have possibly been an 'ensign in a Yorkshire regiment sent south c.1800' and rumoured to have been 'cashiered when young'. I would appreciated advice/guidance on how I might research this. He doesn't appear in the West Yorkshire Regiment Army List for 1780(?) [The only ones I could find online - or was it on fiche?] I've found numerous IGI references to a William bapt 28 Feb 1773, son of William WHITAKER, Weaver of Cononley and his wife Hannah - who are probably the couple who married in 7 Jan 1772 at St Andrew's Kildwick-in-Craven, Yorks WR. There seem to have been a total of 8 children baptised to this couple 1773-1784 in this parish. Not sure if this is the right one though, because the age on memorial stone of above William WHITAKER Jnr d 1836 in Walcot, Bath was given as 78 (at least that's what was recorded around 1923 - the church and burial ground no longer exist...) Hello Listers, I am looking for a little help or direction in finding the correct birth entry for my husband's great grandmother, Ellen PADGETT I already have 2 birth certificates neither of which appear to be the correct family. From her marriage certificate, she was born Birstall 1854-55 and her father was Thomas PADGETT, a coal miner.and a witness was a brother (I believe) Joseph PADGETT From various searches I think her mother was Betty SMITH. Rootsweb Freebmd has 3 Ellen PADGETTs born in the correct period . For Sept 1854 quarter, they show 2 such births and one in Dec quarter. I have the last 2. Unfortunately the first entry has a question mark where the page number should be. - i.e. 9b ? Can someone tell me how I can find out what the page No. should be ? Greetings Derek Barraclough very kindly provided me with the 1861 census details for my BENSON family, then living at 12 Cork St Laisterdyke. Unfortunately my great grandmother Ann BENSON the person I was hoping to find living there was not there, she remains my brick wall. I have been unable to find a Joseph Riley who was 14 and a worsted weaver in the 1871 census ever immigrating to NZ with the rest of the family in the late 1870's. I am wondering if he remained in Bradford. Can a look at the 1881 census and/or 1891 census confirm or refute this. The records of arrivals in NZ are not in the best shape.
