    3. Hi Listers, I am still trying to peice together info on Julia Blott, the one that could be my Julia I think emigrated to the U.S.A from Bradford Yorks after 1901 and before 1908, has anyone any idea how I could trace Julia possibly through the ships log etc. The birth dates I have on her vary from 1845 and 1850. 1. [ENG-YKS-BRADFORD] Hammond Family
    2. ROGER EMMINS
    3. Good morning Listers I am seeking any information on the HAMMOND family, in particular Benjamin, who was a lock keeper on the Leeds / Liverpool Canal in 1841. He and his family are on the census of that year living at Hammond Locks. I cannot locate this set of locks on current L&L maps, but they must be somewhere around the Idle, Thackley, Calverley area of Bradford. Any help would be welcome. Thanks in advance. 1. [ENG-YKS-BRADFORD] Rev. Edward Walker, John Walker, other Walkers in Bradford area
    2. Hello, everyone. I'm still working on a famiily of Walker brothers born in Almondbury in the early 1800's, but several of them living in Bradford. Especially trying to track down any information on a Wesleyan minister, Rev. Edward Walker, born in 1800, whose practice was around the Bradford area. I'd like to learn more about his family roots and his own life as a minister. His brother William Walker of Bolling Hall (1803-1867) married Keziah Wesley Stamp, daughter of Rev. John Stamp, governor of the Woodhouse Grove School, and Ann Wood, and Edward and William and Charles Walker's mother, Lydia Duplicy Walker, is mentioned in a Methodist obituary. If anyone has any suggestions to how to track down more information on Rev. Edward Walker, his parents or brothers or other Wesleyan relatives, I'd be so grateful for your help! In the next generation, my biggest puzzle is William Walker's son John Walker, born in 1837 in Bradford. I haven't been able to find any information about what he did for a living, nor locate him in the census after he grew to adulthood-- and yet I know he was living in Bradford in the early 20th century, as I found a reference to a memoir of Richard Oastler that he wrote for the Yorkshire Observer--though the date of the article turned out to be wrong, and wasn't in the issue of the Yorkshire Observer where it was supposed to be-- alas! Anyone working on any of these individuals or their descendants? Best wishes to all-- Charlotte -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] on behalf of [email protected] Sent: Sun 9/17/2006 5:28 AM To: [email protected] Subject: ENG-YKS-BRADFORD Digest, Vol 1, Issue 13 Today's Topics: 1. I've posted a scan of the certificate in question at: http://www.thepeplows.com/data/wood/woodrobertbrewersarahmarrcert.JPG At this time and place, was the cutoff between full age and minor the age of 21? If so, it appears that 17 and full age are written for Robert, and wouldn't that be contradictory? Or does it not say 17? Sarah's age, based on census returns, would have been 17 +/- 1 year at the time of this marriage. Was it possible that her age was written in the space for Robert? Many thanks for any tips. Andy
