    1. Ann Parry - Bromsgrove
    2. D&M Goodwin
    3. My gggm was Ann Parry born c 1805 Stoke Prior Worcs. On the 1881 census she was living with her son Matthew and family at Long Eye farm Bromsgrove, her age is stated as 76 years. Fact - Ann's husband was Richard Parry, I have the marriage of Matthew (1856 Bromsgrove Parish Church) which states his father to be Richard. I have not been able to find the marriage of Richard & Ann yet. I believe Ann's maiden name could be George. I believe (hope)the following entries on the 1851 & 1861 to be Richard & Ann Parry my family. 1851 Piece 2047 Folio 281 Schedule 101 Bromsgrove,Bromsgrove Lickey End Richard Parry Head Married 49 Ag.labourer Bromsgrove,WOR Ann Wife M 43 " " " " Thomas Son Unm 17 " " " " Emma Herliton Vis M 22 Stoke,WOR Alfred Herliton Vis 2 Birmingham,WAR Charles Tomson Lod Unm 21 Ag.labourer Kingsbury,WAR 1861 Lickey's End next to Crows Mill Richard Parry H. mar. aged 58 Ag. Lab. b. Bromsgrove Ann wife aged 53 Ag. Lab's wife born Stoke, Worcs. Alfred Harkestone grandson aged 11 b. Birmingham Ann has gained 3 years by the 1881 census, if the above is correct then she should be stated as 73 not 76. There is another Ann Parry on the 1881 census born 1813 Upton Worcs. living in Bromsgrove also a widow. Is there any one on the list who has access to an earlier census that can tell me the name of Ann Parry's (born 1813) husband. I hope that it is not Richard. I am trying to prove that Emma on the 1851 census (the surname should read Hurlstone) is the sister of Matthew. I have the marriage certificate for Emma Parry & Henry Hurlstone and Emma's father is Richard. It all seems quite conclusive but as we all know you can never be absolutely sure. I need to feel sure that there was only one Richard & Ann Parry and that the Ann Parry (born 1813) was not married to a Richard. Best wishes Margaret www.thegoodies.org.uk
