I've received a fair number of replies both On- and Off-List, and the Consensus View appears to be that my Mum's "Little Slip" is a "Short Form Certificate". BUT... The other Short Certificates I hold - all, admittedly, much more modern than 1913 - are headed "Certificate of Birth". Mum's has the heading "Certificate of Registration of Birth". There would *seem* to be a significant difference here. And, sadly, none of those who have so kindly replied have said what *their* (1913ish) Short Form Certificates have as a Heading... I have attempted to thank all correspondents individually - off-list - but as I posted my original enquiry on both the WAR and WOR Lists, it seems only reasonable to post this to both as well. Gus
