The recent mentions on the list reminded me that there are two baptisms for children of Thomas & Mary POBJAY at Old Swinford in the IGI in 1730 and 1731. I assume Thomas comes from Frome, where most POBJOY genealogical roads lead, and he may have been a card maker. Can anyone tell me if this was an important wool area at the time? The only other local event I have from that period is the marriage of John POPJOY of Frome to Arabella PEARSON at Quatford, Salop, in 1736.
