    1. WILKES - Lickey End/Catshill/Staple Hill/Bromsgrove

    3. Morning/afternoon all. Now following up a new line of the Wilkes families in and around Catshill near Bromsgrove. Enoch, George and William all feature between 1850 and 1890. They were from Bromsgrove, and seem to have set up a real hotspot of Wilkes families in the Staple Hill area on the edge of Lickey End by the 1891 census, and I have them in a variety of census records from 1851 onwards. I see the registers for Lickey are not on film, does anyone have experience of viewing the registers, are they still at the church? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. 3. The parish of [The] Lickey was solely Ecclesiastical. The parish, and its church (Holy Trinity) were established in 1858 out of parts of the ecclesiastical parishes of Bromsgove and Catshill (itself created around 1838-44 out of Bromsgrove). For Civil purposes ir remained in Bromsgrove parish. You don't say 'where' the registers are not on film - the LDS? But the chances are high that they have been filmed, and are available at Worcester History Centre - although I'll freely admit I've never looked for them!
